On April 7, the National Health and Medical Commission issued the "Notice on Printing and Distributing Psychological Counseling and Social Work Service Plans for New Coronary Pneumonia Patients, Quarantined Persons and Their Families", requiring the simultaneous physical and psychological recovery of patients.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic, nearly 4 million grassroots doctors in my country have all been dispatched and joined the battle, playing a very important and unique positive role in the prevention and control of the epidemic. Although they are facing shortages of protective clothing and masks, they have not weakened their determination to stop the spread of the epidemic.
Now that patients with new coronary pneumonia have been cured and discharged, and people from various places have returned to work, the situation is improving, but unblocking does not mean unblocking. Doing a good job in the isolation of relevant personnel has become one of the main tasks at this stage, and it is also inseparable from our grassroots doctors.
The state requires all localities to carry out work in accordance with the "Psychological Counseling and Social Work Service Program for New Coronary Pneumonia Patients, Quarantined Persons and Their Families" (hereinafter referred to as the "Program").
According to the "Plan", the grass-roots doctor commune has organized the following things to be done by the grass-roots medical institutions in the near future, so as to facilitate the development of everyone's work.
01. Set up psychological specialists
According to the situation affected by the epidemic, each sub-district (township) has set up psychological specialists in community health service centers (township health centers).
02. Provide offline and referral services
According to the needs of discharged patients and their families, as well as the families of quarantined persons, specialized psychologists can contact social workers, psychological counselors, and psychotherapists to enter the community to provide psychological counseling and social work services.
03. Classification management and intervention
Classified interventions are carried out for service objects of different communities, different age groups, different groups of people, and different needs.
04. Distribute publicity materials for mental health services, etc.
In response to hot topics of public concern, conduct publicity on the prevention and control of COVID-19 through authoritative media; distribute publicity materials for mental health services, and provide support resources such as mental health expertise, psychological hotline phone numbers, and QR codes for psychological support network platforms; organize experts to pass Conduct mental health lectures for community residents through media, video, online teaching and other forms.
05. Do a good job in the treatment of patients with psychiatric drug intervention
The "Plan" requires that for patients who have used psychiatric drug intervention in designated hospitals, if it is assessed that they need to continue to be given psychiatric drug treatment, the designated hospital should record the patient's relevant treatment information in the discharge information sheet, and hand it over to the rehabilitation station or isolation point. Continue maintenance therapy.
For those who need to continue to be treated, the rehabilitation station or isolation point should send the relevant treatment information to the community health service center (township health center) for continued treatment when they leave.
06. Guide family members to restore their confidence in life
For the family members who are found to be at high risk of psychological problems after the assessment, after obtaining their consent, the community health service center (township health center), social work service agency will coordinate psychological counselors, psychotherapists, social workers, etc. to provide psychological services. and social work services, establish and activate the social support system of the clients, and guide them to restore their confidence in life.
07. For those who have difficulties in life, assist them to apply for hardship assistance
For patients, quarantined persons and their families who have specific difficulties in life, they should take the initiative to report to the sub-district (township) and community, assist them to apply for assistance in difficulty, link to assistance resources, and seek help or support from social organizations and social welfare charitable resources.
08. For the family members of the deceased, guide them to vent their grief
For the family members of the deceased, we should take the initiative to provide them with services such as grief counseling, psychological counseling, and social support, strengthen care and care, guide them to vent their grief, and help them pass the grief period smoothly and return to normal life. When necessary, contact mental and mental health professionals for professional support.
09. Increase the density of visits and check for at-risk patients
For patients, quarantined persons and their families who are found to be at risk of self-injury, suicide, or impulsive injury, relevant professionals should report to the responsible leaders of the sub-district (township) and inform the community as soon as possible.
Psychological specialists and other personnel should increase the density of visits and inform their families of emergency contact numbers. Psychological counselors, mental health social workers, etc. are involved in crisis intervention, and psychological counseling and social work services are continuously provided, and referrals are made to mental health medical institutions when necessary.
Finally, it is worth noting that in carrying out the above work, the personal and family privacy of patients, quarantined persons and their families, including personal information, life trajectories, and family situations, must be kept strictly confidential; a special person will be responsible for the file management of service objects and sign confidentiality agreements.
